This design was for a customer in Washington Township, OH. The design process was very simple for this project, and not a lot of information was gathered. Designing a sidewalk is not difficult, however the customer did ask for something unique and decorative to increase the curb appeal. This home was built in the 80’s and has a “boxy” look, so we kept the sidewalk linear instead of incorporating curves. To do something different than the usual “L” shaped sidewalk, we incorporated the use of overlapping squares to transition the turn to the driveway. We also incorporated the use of two different types of pavers as well to increase the detail of the small project.
This sidewalk used the Techo-Bloc “Allegro” and Techo-Bloc “Antika” pavers. Antika pavers are designed to give the look of natural stone cobbles, but offer the ease of installation like that of pavers. The total square footage of the sidewalk isĀ 130 square feet. With an estimated two days for completion, this project is sure to add some quick curb appeal.
Listed to the right are a list of the products used for this project with links to the products page.
Antika offers a natural cobble stone look with the ease of installation of pavers. There are seven shapes to the Antika pattern offering a random and natural appearance. The color chosen for this project was sandlewood.
These pavers offer a dimpled and textured appearance as well as a tumbled finish. The textured surface offers shadowing to give it a difference appearance during different times of the day. Its natural qualities compliment the Antika pavers, its four sizes are perfect for installing in a random running-bond pattern. The color for this project was champlain grey.
